Biblical wrath is understood as God’s angry, justified justice against sinners. This Wrath is described in two ways. 1) All sinners are condemned to hell upon death. 2) God is planning to bring a series of awful judgments to this world – a sort of hell-on-earth scenario called the Great Tribulation. In His grace and mercy, God has provided a rescue plan, a way to escape the wrath to come and guarantee a place in heaven. This salvation is not based on any good thing we have done, but solely on Christ’s payment for our sins when He gave His life for us on the Cross. “For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:3-7).
